Scam Alert – Phone Number Spoofing

Fraudulent Phone Calls Claiming To Be Your Bank

We are receiving reports that scammers are calling attempting to impersonate banks using spoofed phone numbers.

The scammer will call you with a fake caller ID and often times the copy of a legitimate phone number from the financial institution.   They will be calling with various “out of the blue” questions at random.  They will either ask you to confirm a fake transaction, provide personal information or click on a fraudulent link that they will email or text you will remaining on the phone.  Banks will never ask for your personal information over the phone.

If you receive a call requesting this type of information or if the caller is asking you to do anything out of the ordinary such as clicking on a link or giving out personal information hang up immediately and contact the bank at their direct number to confirm a request or report suspicious activity.

If you are ever concerned with a phone call or text message you received or if you have clicked on a suspicious link, please contact us right away at 256.547.2572 so that we can assist you with protecting your accounts and identity.
