Allen Ray is a 3rd generation banker and has been with Exchange Bank for over 41 years. From 1983 until present, Allen has served in various positions and also has been on the Board of Directors since 1983. Allen has had education/experience spanning over 4 decades in Information Technology (IT), Bank Operations and Banking Studies. Allen was a student at Gadsden State Community College, Alabama Technical College and has a degree in Applied Science-IT. In addition, Allen has completed the Alabama Banking School in Mobile, Alabama.
For many years Allen has been serving in positions with various non-profits and organizations in Etowah County, Alabama. He has served as Treasurer of Attalla Lions Club, Treasurer of Gadsden Rotary Club and on the allocation committee of United Way of Etowah County. Allen has also served as a Board member and Finance Chairman of the Hardin-Gadsden Cultural Arts. Allen is also very active at the First Baptist Church of Gadsden where he is on the TV ministry, Audit Committee, Pastor Search Committee, Children’s Sunday School Department teacher and Deacon.
Allen has proudly lead Exchange Bank operations for many years alongside his family. His son, Christopher, now serves as a 4th generation banker at Exchange Bank. Allen’s leadership and love for his home has made a continuous impact for Exchange Bank and for the community in which he serves. Allen has another son Michael, who works in the Birmingham area with an IT marketing firm. He has 3 grandchildren all under the ages of 10. Allen is engaged to Page Stracener Cornelius, Bremen Georgia, formerly from Gadsden Alabama.
